Back Pain from Pregnancy
Written by Dr. Jason Ngan, DC
There are many changes inside the expecting mother’s body that causes back pain. Pain does not just come from the increased weight and stress on the body. Hormonal changes also play a huge role in back pain. Hormone’s such as progesterone and relaxin prepares the mother’s body for delivery by increasing flexibility of the muscles, joints, and ligaments. These hormones also loosen the support of the spine and therefore creates instability and pain. Studies have shown that chiropractor care can relieve pain during pregnancy. Chiropractic care is drug-free and natural approach to manage pain for the expecting mother. We offer gentle hands-on therapeutic treatments, posture, and exercise consultation.
